Pay What You Want in December
I'm trying something new.
In December, book bodywork services by donation.
This is an experiment in embracing things that appear uncustomary, non-conformist, even risky, while trusting the universe in action, the unknown, and the felt-sense of surrender, generosity, integrity, and gratitude.
These are values which cannot be measured, yet they can be felt deeply.
Consider this an experiment in separating currency from the work I do, while still acknowledging its value.
I want to see how this plays out in a capitalist culture that thrives on extraction, lack, excess, negative residue, and disregard for human bodies and the planet.
What pay-as-you-go means to me:
When you book a session, reserve your time online here.
You can give payment either before or after your session.
30-min and 60-min sessions will be 100 percent donation-based for massage therapy, lymphatics, cranial sacral techniques for treatment, pain relief, and wellness.
90-minute massage, 2-hour massage, Ayurvedic warm oil massage, and breath coaching will be minimum $108 during December (this is my limit to cover time and costs)
What I expect from you:
You are responsible for sensing into what you can give freely, with a full heart, according to the value you receive. Pay attention to your nervous system, and pay what you can, and take time to know it feels really good for you.
You are responsible for minding your finances, and giving what you can afford to give, nothing to prove, and not over-giving.
You are responsible for your subtle emotions, which means noticing if feelings of guilt or shame arise. For example, if you can't afford to pay anything, and a massage would help you to be kinder to your kids or parent or yourself, recognize the value in that. I'm here for it.
If you decide to pay me $1000, pause to notice your motives. For example, if feelings of superiority or expectations arise, remember that your sense of worthiness does not depend on any action. So just remind yourself of your inherent value and dignity, and then give. I'm here for that too.
Please take this opportunity if it aligns with you completely, on all levels.
Happy thanksgiving in whatever way you give thanks.
