Ayurvedic Warm Oil Massage

Seasonal Offering (2 hours)

Ayurvedic warm oil massage, traditionally known as Abhyanga, is a deeply restorative full-body treatment that comes from the ancient healing system of Ayurveda, India’s traditional medicine. Oil is considered both nourishment and medicine — a way to ground the body and nourish your whole being.

This 2-hour session is designed to be slow, rhythmic, and nourishing. Organic unrefined sesame oil is gently warmed and infused with herbal formulas such as ashwagandha, bala, shatavari, myrth, castor, and more — ingredients long used in Ayurveda to soothe muscles, ease joint discomfort, support hormonal balance, and regulate the nervous system.

The treatment involves applying these warm herbal oils generously to the entire body, including the ears and nasal passages (optional), where dryness and tension often accumulate. Touch is continuous and rhythmic, helping the body shift into a parasympathetic state — sometimes described as a "deep exhale" for the whole system.

Because our nervous systems and hormones rely on healthy fat (and many of us are chronically depleted), this practice works on both a structural and subtle level. It’s protective, replenishing, and we offer during the cooler months when the body naturally turns inward.

Ayurvedic warm oil massage is available during fall and early winter when it’s most needed and most effective. It was one of our most popular sessions last year, and it’s back by request. Gift certificates are available.
